CDW: Embarcadero – Stinson Beach

California Deaf Wheelers, a cycling club for the deaf in California, hosted a ride on Saturday, 18 September 2010. The ride started at the Embarcadero in San Francisco. The plan was to do a 60-mile ride to Stinson Beach, north of San Francisco, via Sausalito. Bobby Skedsmo quit a few miles after passing through Sausalito because he was using a mountain bike with a coarser tread on the tires than the others were using. ”I used more watts of energy than the others,” said Bobby when he described the hard time he had in  keeping up with a group of people who were using much lighter bikes with thinner, high-pressure tires. However, the rest of the group also gave up a little before they reached Mt Tamalpais, well short of their ultimate goal of Stinson Beach, due to cloudy, drizzly weather and their wet clothing.
