Route: Capital Crescent – Rock Creek Loop

Distance: Approximately 30 miles

Meet: Gallaudet University Parking Lot – Tower Clock before 7:45am. The ride starts 8:00AM.

This route is flat except for bridges going over roads. We will stop for a break in Bethesda, where you can buy snacks and drinks to refuel.

This is will be a fun ride! Three reasons you should go:

  1. You haven’t started riding since the end of the 2011 season and it’s time to get back into shape!
  2. The cherry blossoms are supposed to start blooming on March 28th. We’ll ride by the Tidal Basin on the return leg and see the initial blooms.
  3. Catch up with old friends and make new ones.

This is the first Metro DC club ride of the year 2012. Please be sure to bring your helmet, water bottles, tire repair kits, snacks or money for snacks and your pager if you have one.

The ride is open to anyone. Spread the word!

    March 26th is on Monday?

  2. I wonder if any one is interested in biking to Cherry Blossom for free bike valet parking?
I could volunteer to valet all bikes at parking by Tidal Basin at one day time in March or April. No car parking is allowed during the event period, otherwise only handicapped slots will be granted to the handicapped drivers at a fee in advance. Please discuss the idea. We may find more volunteers to work with WBA for valet parking for your visit to Cherry Blossom.

We will ride through Cherry Blossom area in the beginning of the ride. This way, we will avoid high foot traffic in the afternoon.
